The man formerly known as one of the best ever in Hip Hop could be facing more charges after a fight with a correctional officer. C'mon X tell us whats up man, I want that RuffRyder rapper back, the one who was hood, but had that street smarts.

Elliott Wilson's New Hip Hop Site
Elliott Wilson the former leader at XXL magazine is about to launch a website called RapRadar in march, and this website will be a site which will do interviews, blog, and other materials related to hip hop. I know I'm small scale but hopefully I can get more news from Elliott to pass on.

Play N Skillz - Established
I don't know if you have heard of them or not, but two brothers from Dallas, Tx are getting more and more buzz on the production side of things. Already nominated for a few Grammy's these guys have produced tracks for Lil Wayne, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, and are working on projects for many other artists. I just wanted to let people know that D Town is in the building and hopefully they get bigger on the mainstream level.

Hip Hop Oscars
Yea we sure did have some performances last night at the Oscar's. Beyonce, John Legend, Alicia Keys, and Queen Latifah performed. Big ups for the performances and the big winner of the night Slum Dog Millionaire. Going off on a tangent here I did see the movie and I thought it was amazing, my only beef with it is that those kids involved still don't seem to have the pay they shouldve earned. Get the money to the people!

TI to teens: Be Careful
Man this guy TI just keeps on being a good guy. TI spoke to kids at a high school about staying in school and staying away from the bad things in life. I know that TI isn't the best of people to follow as a role model, but you have to give him credit for sincerely doing the things he is doing these days. Props TI keep it up!

Hip Hop as Medical Treatment?
Dr. Rani Whitfield a Physician from Louisiana is working on merging Hip Hop with medicine. The doctor is trying his best to find ways to limit or prevent Heart Disease within the African American communities in the United States. Thank you Doc for finally trying to put a positive spin on the music and the culture, and hopefully your work within this field of study could bring us a better understanding of the music as well as medical advancement. Heart Disease is the #1 killer within African Americans with many reasons, if your interested the article goes to depth about what Dr. Whitfield wants to do.

Fabolous dating Mary Jane?
This weekend the rapper Fabolous was linked to 500 pounds of marijuana which was found during a drug raid of a tour bus. According to this article there were no rappers on the tour bus at the time, but Fabolous was on the bus earlier. Talib Qweli: Hip Hop is Here
Talib Qweli a legend in socially aware Hip Hop, met with and discussed the influence Hip Hop has had socially. The rapper along with a Harvard University scholar spoke to an audience in West Virginia about how bit the influence of Hip Hop really is. This is a great article to read with very good educational information. Check it out: http://www.statejournal.com/story.cfm?func=viewstory&storyid=52510&catid=166
Political parties and Hip Hop!
Michael Steele the new R.N.C. (Republican National Committee) chairman has said that he wants to apply conservative party principles to urban communities. Drake, The Interview
Drake the protege of Lil Wayne and a youngster with some promise was interviewed in this article recently about many different topics. He talks about ghostwriting for Lil Wayne and comparisons to Kanye West. I have listened to Drake's music for a lil bit and the style is waynesque, and so are the lyrics. One thing is for certain, to be mentioned with Wayne and Kanye means you gotta have a lot of talent.

P Diddy New Album
Diddy is back and this time with a new movement in rap music. The Bad Boy business mogul is going to drop his 6th studio album titled "Last Train to Paris"this year. Beyonce - Diva
Beyonce is back with another single off her Sasha Fierce cd, this time the single is called "Diva." B has always been for the ladies and this sounds like a strong song for the independent women. Lil Wayne Delays Album
I'm not anticipating this album at all but I thought some people might want to know that Wayne has delayed his rock album. The album is called "Rebirth" and has been pushed back to May after having a April release date. Weezy has a single out called "Prom Queen" which will have a video coming out very soon. Personally I want Wayne to go back to the 99-02 flow with the 05-07 lyrics.

2Pac Movie!!!!!
Ok so this post is about 2Pacs mom Afeni Shakur and a rift between a production company over what is said to be a movie on Pac. I'am not really interested in the problem as I'am in the fact that a movie could be made on Pac just like it was on Biggie. If anything I hope they cast the role characters better than in Biggie's movie, and show more of the artistic side of 2pac.

Yep if you don't know already both these men have joined forces for a new song called "Do What it Do." The song sounds very pop but I can see it becoming a radio friendly track which 50 cent needs at this point. It's good to see that 50 and Kelly have put there past beef behind.

Lloyd Banks Disses Rick Ross
Yea I know this song came out last week, but I had to talk about it. Everyone remembers the Boy Wonder from his first album in 2004 with the hits, On Fire, Warrior, and Karma but since then he has been on a downhill spiral. Banks has not done much when it comes to bad things, but the aggressiveness that he used to approach a track with seems like it's back. In his diss track Officer Down, Banks verbally assaults the Boss from the South like he wants to destroy him. Verse after verse the attacks continue and Banks ends the hurricane track with a punchline thats got the streets talkin, "50 bodied you, I just laid the chalk out." The fire and hunger for more seems like it has returned for Banks, and lets hope the creativity that he used to bring continues to reach new levels. Jeezy to O'Reilly "Come to My Hood"
With a new mixtape coming out Young Jeezy took some time to address a few haters that have been on his case for a minute. Jeezy said in an interview that he would welcome Bill O'Reilly from the O'Reilly factor to come to his hood. Young Jeezy also made some statements about what he thought about Mr. O'Reilly, and Dennis Miller's comments regarding the music they release. All I know is Jeezy I'am on your side, but if you ever go to Bill's show he will not let you win, I've seen it! Any how keep dropping that real music for the 09 and we all good.

Juvenile Vs Plies
Yesterday I had a post of Ricky Ross and Suge Knight looking very similar to each other. Today I was wondering if anyone thought about the rapper Juvenile, and his new version Plies. Both of these rappers got gold teeth, rap about the females, keep a thug image, and rep their states to the fullest. Is it me or are these rappers just swagger jackin all over the place?

I know many of you have heard that Joaquin Phoenix is going to drop a Rap album. I would like to encourage artist growth for individuals, but not stupidity. Hip Hop and Obama
In our generation many of us see Obama as the HipHop president. He is the man that understands the culture, the people, and the history. With the support of our president, is it time we make music that is relevant to the times? I mean can the radio please blast music on our struggles, and what we strive to become instead of, daaaaaaaaang that girl got booty? If we can change the commercial appeal to real life instead of fairy tale land, maybe we can be taken seriously as a genre as a whole.

I know some people have probably seen the similarities in how Rick Ross and Suge Knight look. The beard, the swagger, the thug, and the hair. Well if you had to compare them side by side, what is the difference?

Suge Knight, My how the mighty have fallen
Marion "Suge" Knight got beat up a few days ago while attending NBA all star weekend. One of the people involved claims to be an associate of the singer Akon, and is said to be charged with assault along with a few other charges. Man I do remember 95 when it was Death Row Vs Bad Boy. Suge please get some help!

Inspired by Spears?
I found this short article stating that 50 cent was inspired by Britney Spears for his new cd. I hope Curtis doesn't go getting a girl pregnant, admitting himself into rehab, and growing his hair looking like a girl. Wait! he has already got baby momma drama, has a former associate who needs rehab, and has some pimpin curly videos out on his website. Do I smell copycat?
