You gotta give up to DJ Khaled for always having the best collaborations.  We know the formula that he has put in motion has gotten old, but it is still fun to see so many big time rappers from different locations on one track.

Ludacris - Here Me Cry feat Jennifer Hudson

Ludacris has another new song out and this one is a real chill track.  Jennifer Hudson provides the perfect vocals on the hook with Ludacris providing us very real lyrics.  If this track "Here Me Cry" is signifying a new Ludacris I'm all down for it.  From the cartoonish and fun Hip Hop songs, I think everyone should realize that this guy isn't here to talk about fun stuff.  Ludacris will touch reality and this is the perfect example

50 Cent vs Southern Music

Ok while I was posting album sales for this week something hit me about 50 Cent. I remember in the past 50 has said that Southern music isn't Hip Hop or stuff along those lines, and also 50 has had a very volatile relationship when it comes to handling topics about the South. Throughout all this stuff 50 has made friends with Ludacris, Trick Daddy, David Banner, and other staples in Southern Hip Hop. So my question to those who hate on 50 because he so called hates the south is this. If 50 hates the south then why would he allow space on his website, Thisis50.com to have a background layout for Paul Wall. Earlier during the year Mike Jones, Ciara, and Bun B had spots in advertising on 50 Cent's website. The logical explaination to this can be that 50 is seeing advertising money from rappers to allow them some web space on his site, but what about those with small budgets? Honestly I think 50 Cent likes music from the South (he has had tracks with Ciara, Lil Flip, Lil Scrappy, and Ludacris) and its the dumbed down music he might hate. If he hates dumbed down music though, then why does he support Soulja Boy.......

Best Rapper Alive: Total Albums & US Sales

So for my first post I will compare record sales and total albums. I have decided to use Wikipedia as my source for Discography on each artist. What I will list on this post is the rapper's name, number of album's, and total approximate US sales. Also, I will not be posting any collaboration albums, just individual albums.

• Jay Z - Total Albums: 10, Total Sales: 23 Million Albums (RIAA)
• T.I. - Total Albums: 6, Total Sales: 7.5 Million Albums (RIAA)
• Lil Wayne - Total Albums: 6, Total Sales: 9.3 Million Albums (RIAA)
• Eminem - Total Albums: 5, Total Sales: 29.5 Million Albums (RIAA)
• The Game - Total Albums: 3, Total Sales: 4.2 Million Albums (RIAA)
• 50 Cent - Total Albums: 3, Total Sales: 14.5 Million Albums (RIAA)
  
• Ludacris - Total Albums: 6, Total Sales: 15 Million Albums (RIAA)
  
• Young Jeezy - Total Albums: 5, Total Sales: 3.6 Million Albums (RIAA)
  
• Bun B - Total Albums: 2, Total Sales: 800k Albums (RIAA)

So after getting all this information together, the rapper with the most total album sales goes to Eminem who has nearly 6 million more sales in the US compared to Jay-Z. Once again these numbers are from the US, so they could be altered on a Worldwide level. So far though The Game, and Bun B do not have the commercial appeal I thought they did, but that could also be because they have the fewest individual albums released compared to the rest. The one exception is 50 cent who because of his first album has some pretty incredible numbers. Young Jeezy on the other hand has dropped 5 cd's which I didn't know about, and that seems like it hurt's his appeal based on just numbers.

TI, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Lil Scrappy ON STAGE TOGETHER!

I know you probably heard the news about this but here is the video. From WSHH and boy is it fun to watch. The ATL hip hop scene is still movin forward, and with TI gone for 1 year I have a good feeling it will be held down very well by some prominent rappers. Oh yeah didn't Outkast say they was coming back, and aren't they from around here?

Lil Scrappy on DTP

I got this news last night but forgot to publish it. Word is Ludacris has signed Lil Scrappy to DTP and brought him out during a concert. In this concert Jeezy and TI were there so it must have been amazing. The last time we heard from Scrappy he released an album in 06 with the single Money in the Bank with Lil Jon & 50 cent co-producing. If there is anyone who is street for the south its Scrappy, hopefully he can fill the streets up with some material soon.

Luda says Sorry

Ludacris apologized to Senator John McCain during NBA all star weekend about comments he made in a rap. I feel thats a grown man move by Luda and hopes he continues this growth. Also his cd was freakin amazing I'm disappointed it didn't go as big as it should've.
